Twelve Looks from the Last Ten Months and a Little Life Update

Hey everyone, long time no talk!

It looks like it has been about 10 months since I last posted on here, wow! A lot has happened in that time including me finishing up the last year of my Bachelor's of Science with Honours in Biochemistry! Other than that, most of what has happened has been really sad and difficult. I don't want to get into it too much because this should be a happy nail place but my dad began emotionally and verbally abusing us over a year ago, using drugs and now he has moved out and my parents are separated. I struggle with depression and anxiety but now that I have some time off from school I have a lot more time for self care and I really want to get into blogging again. If any of you guys ever want to talk about anything I'm here!

Catching Up!

Hey everyone, today I have a catch up post to share!

Life hasn't been great lately but I've been getting back into nails which makes everything better. I only have six more courses to take until I'm finished my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biochemistry so I'm hoping to keep the nails coming even when school starts again. I will be graduating with honours which means I'll be completing an honours project. I've been volunteering in the lab I'll be working in for that project twice a week and I've realized the combination of often being too hot/sweaty and almost constantly wearing gloves means sad wet nails. There is a huge bright side to this because keeping my nails painted and protected will keep them happy. This is a huge motivation for me to paint my nails which is great!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Springy Floral Frames Featuring Hex Nail Jewelry Charms!

Hello everyone! Today I have some floral frame nails to share!

I've been applying for jobs lately but I've yet to hear back from anyone. My boyfriend is still away for another month so I wish I could get a job to make the time go by quicker! On the plus side, I have been able to relax and do a lot of things that I like, but that does make the time seem to go by slower.

Anyways, onto the nails!

I started off with two coats of OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid, OPI Good Grief! or American Apparel French Lilac on most of my nails. I then went in with each of those colours on a small paint brush for the accent nails.

Immediately after top coating the floral frame nails, I picked up the Hex Nail Jewelry charms with some tweezers and placed them while the top coat was still wet. After that dried, I top coated and cleaned up all my nails to complete the look.

What do you guys think of this look? I think they came out much too girly for my tastes but I love the charms that I used!

Lilac Nails Inspired by MrCandiipants Featuring piCture pOlish Swagger & Hex Nail Jewelry!

Hello hello my lovelies! Today I have my first proper blog post in a long time to share, inspired by a MrCandiipants design!

I am still so happy to be done with school and finals, it's great to not have to worry about! Anyways, onto the nails!

I started with two coats of piCture pOlish Swagger. The formula was amazing and it was almost opaque at one coat! For the leaves I used OPI Green-wich Village and that mixed with some Revlon Spanish Moss, and for the flowers I used OPI Hello Hawaii Ya?, Essie Play Date and Essie Warm & Toasty Turtleneck.

I left one nail lilac-less on each hand to add some Hex Nail Jewelry charms. I just apply them with a bit of top coat, double top coat them and they stay right on (I wore this look for six days with no problems)!

So what do you guys think of this look? I don't love it because I didn't execute it very well. I'd like to try a look more like the MrCandiipants one, basically with better leaves/greenery!

Sally Hansen Cheery On Top Over Bare Nails!

Hey everyone! Today I have some naked glitter nails to share!

So I've been feeling a cold coming on for a while and after feeling better and deciding I wasn't actually going to get sick, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I think I will basically just go to sleep when I get home (at seven at the latest) and definitely go straight into bed! I hardly slept last night, so that in itself makes me excited to go through my day and just get it over with :P.

Onto the nails!

What you see here is simply one coat of Sally Hansen Cheery On Top between a coat of base coat and top coat!

It has quite good coverage and was super easy to work with!

What do you guys think of this polish or this look? I'm all about looks where bare nail shows so I'm kind of into this! It's still a bit girly for my liking.

Dark Mix & Match Featuring China Glaze Choo-Choo Choose You!

Hey guys! Today I have some mix and match nails to share!

So yesterday we actually went through a haunted house and then a maze and it was so fun! I wasn't actually too scared and definitely wasn't the most scared in our group which was cool!

Onto the nails!

For this look, I used Sally Hansen Slick Black, L'oreal Rose To The Occasion, American Apparel Hassid and China Glaze Choo-Choo Choose You! I really didn't like these much and they are very worn and not cleaned up well, but I post every look I wear so whatever!

Navy & Purple Dry Marble with Some Hex Nail Jewelry!

Hey everyone! Today I have some dark dry marble nails to share!

Last night we went to a horror movie, and tonight we're going to a haunted house and then another horror movie! I swear I'll have a heart attack before the weekend is over!

Anyways, onto the nails!

To start, I applied one coat of American Apparel Mount Royal. On one nail at a time, I applied a second coat of Mount Royal followed by a few blobs of Sonia Kashuk Jewel Orchid right from the brush from the bottle. With a striping brush, I swirled the two colours around until it looked cool!

With some top coat, I decided to add some Hex Nail Jewelry charms because I love these things! They are reusable and I probably have close to 50 by now!

What do you guys think of this look? I feel like these were hard to photograph because of the glare but I really liked them!
