Ferns & Flowers Inspired by Wondrously Polished Using the Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is Collection!

Hello my lovelies! Today I have a tropical look using seven of the Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is collection polishes, inspired by a design by Lindsey of Wondrously Polished!

I am still very busy with volunteering and tutoring, and yesterday I found out I have an iron deficiency. That could explain why I'm so lazy and exhausted all of the time! :P Hopefully the super nasty liquid iron I've started taking will really help with my energy levels! Maybe then I'll be able to find the time to blog more often than once a week!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Ferns & Flowers Inspired by Wondrously Polished Using the Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is Collection

I started off with one super opaque coat of American Apparel Hassid. I really love AA polishes and so many of them are one coaters which is always amazing!

Next, I went in with seven of the ten cremes/crellies of the Hoop! There It Is collection. For the ferns I used Hooperchondriac (medium green) and then It's Hoop To Be Square (pale green) on top. For the flowers I used Hoop! There It Is (coral), Don't Paddle Break A Nail (pink, the one shown in the bottle shot), and Get Indie Flow (blue-toned purple) for the petals and then Thump Your Melons (orange) and These Hips Don't Lie (yellow) for the dots.

As always I did both hands, but this time I forgot to take pictures of my right hand until there was too much tip wear for pictures.

What do you guys think of this design? I like the sheer look of the flowers with the opaque fern fronds behind!

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I'll try to start posting more than once a week on here, maybe once the iron kicks in I'll have enough energy to do so! I'll be back with some neon half moon floral nails as well as swatches of half of the Girly Bits HTII collection soon! Happy Wednesday! =)

Multicoloured Fern Fronds For Nail Crazy In April!

Hey everyone, tonight I have some ferny nails to share!

I'm going to make this a short post because I'm officially starting my volunteer work tomorrow! Also, last week I didn't get my blog post in the InLinkz thing in time and I don't want that to happen again! I decided to loosely follow the prompt and do some earthy nails this time around as I missed the actual holiday by a week (and therefore didn't want to wear some clearly Earth Day inspired nails).

Anyways, onto the nails!

To start, I applied two coats of China Glaze Red-y To Rave. It had a super lovely and opaque formula! I think it is brighter and lighter in real life, it's definitely neon!

Next, I went in with a Winstonia striping brush and American Apparel The Valley (aqua/light blue), AA Dynasty (purple) and AA Malibu Green (green/teal).

These were inspired by the lovely MrCandiipants as per usual!

I'm not totally sold on the colour palette just yet but it always takes me a bit of time to form an opinion on any new nail art I do. So we'll see!

I tried out other poses (with my purple triangle nails that you'll be seeing soon) and this is really is the best looking one this hand can do! :P

Springy Water Marble with Purple Flowers for Nail Crazy in April!

Hey everyone! Today I have the first water marble nails I've done in years to share!

Today's post will be a bit of a quick one because I need to get back to studying! One final exam down, three to go! I can't wait until a little over a week from now when I'll be free for over four months! How crazy is that? That in itself should be enough to motivate me to study. When I put it that way I feel like I can work hard until I'm finished! Somehow I've just motivated myself, that's a first haha :P.

Anyways, onto the nails!

I've been using a cup a little bit bigger than a shot glass to do my water marbles, and because it's quite a small glass, the colours stay so opaque that you don't need a white base! So what you see here is just the colours themselves over the base coat I always use (Orly Bonder)!

For the water marble I used all American Apparel colours: T-shirt (white), The Valley (dusty blue/aqua), Mount Royal (navy blue) and Crescent Heights (chartreuse green).

Because I'm a water marbling newbie, I bumped my ring finger nail either with the toothpick or onto the inside of the glass (I don't remember which, too much studying :P). Because I remembered that I had this prompt coming up, I decided to add flowers overtop of where I messed up my nail. I used China Glaze Plur-ple for the petals and American Apparel Neon Yellow for the centres of the flowers.

After that, I just went in with a coat of top coat and I was finished! I feel like these came out quite well, especially after not doing this technique for a long time!

What do you guys think of this look? Also, are any of you guys writing finals soon/now? I'd love to hear in the comments!

Watercolour Easter Egg Nail Art for Nail Crazy in April!

Hey everyone! Today I have some Easter egg inspired nails to share!

My last day of school was last Thursday so I've been relaxing, spending time with family and cleaning my room and my house. I think I'll start studying for finals today as I have four to write this month. They are nicely spread out which I'm very thankful for! I do this stupid thing where I worry about my exams because I haven't started studying for them, despite having lots of time. This means I can't fully relax because I'm constantly worrying about finals. So like most of my problems, there is an obvious and easy solution but I'm just too lazy to do it :P. However, now that my room is quite clean, I think I'll be able to start studying!

Anyways, onto the nails! Be ready for a ton of pictures!

Watercolour Easter Egg Nail Art Featuring American Apparel Polishes for Nail Crazy in April

For this look I started off with two coats of American Apparel T-shirt and a coat of top coat (Essie Good to Go). T-shirt is an okay white, it seems really great on the first coat but you have to do a thick second coat to avoid balding. The second coat doesn't seem to distribute evenly or self-level at first, but it does somewhat as it dries. And it's close enough to opaque at two coats for a design like this which is nice!

The other day I picked up six bottles of Wet N Wild Wild Shine Clear Nail Protector from Dollarama, with the intention of making six jelly polishes for nail art. For this look though, I decided to mix a tiny bit of a coloured polish with a bunch of Clear Nail Protector on a piece of paper to get a watercolour effect. I mixed and applied the sheer polishes with a medium-sized paintbrush.

I used all American Apparel polishes for the watercolour blobs including: The Valley (dusty robins egg blue, the lightest blue shown here), Mount Royal (navy blue, looks blurple here), African Violet (dark/medium purple), Berry (dark burgundy/berry), Sunshine State (yellow), Dance (pale orangey nude) and Rose Bowl (dusty orange-leaning pink).

Next, I decided to go in with some acetone on the same brush to spread the colours around and mix them together! It ended up making some white spots which I think looks cool!

To further blend the colours and to lighten up the look, I applied one coat of a sheer white polish (Essie Waltz).

After some cleanup and a coat of top coat (again, Essie Good to Go) I was finished! The same day I ended up doing this look on my mom and her best friend, except they wanted all of their nails to be blue and green so I used The Valley, Mount Royal and Malibu Green (a green-leaning teal, link to a post where I used it as a base for some brain/vine nail art here)!

Since it was Easter Sunday that I did these, my mom actually ended up ruining basically all of her nails getting the turkey dinner ready right at the end :P. But my mom's best friend's nails are still going strong and I can just do my mom's nails again!

What do you guys think of these nails? I might be doing this technique a bunch from now on so I'm really glad I didn't make the clear polishes into jelly polishes right away! I think it looks quite cool when all of the nails are the same colours so I'll have to try that soon!

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I hope you guys all had a chocolate-filled long weekend! Happy Tuesday! :)

Rainbow Half Moon Hearts for Nail Crazy In March!

Hello everyone! Today I have yet another half moon heart look to share, but this time they're rainbow-coloured!

I only have two more weeks of school (followed by three weeks of finals) and I'm so freaking excited!! It means my four month holiday from school will be here soon as well as my Swiss sister Anna! She'll be staying with us for three of those four months and it's going to be so amazing!

But enough about me, onto the nails!

Rainbow Half Moon Hearts for Nail Crazy In March

For this look I just used the brushes from the bottle! I really love this technique because it's so quick, cute and easy!

Rainbow Half Moon Hearts for Nail Crazy In March

Colour-wise I used OPI Red Hot Rio, Toucan Do It If You Try and Need Sunglasses? for the red, orange and yellow, respectively. Next, I went in with American Apparel Neon Green and Essie Strut Your Stuff and DJ Play That Song for the green, blue and purple!

I didn't end up putting the red on this hand but I did on my other one! I would have included a picture but there was a huge cat hair on my nail that I didn't notice until after taking the pictures :P.

These feel so springy/summery and happy to me! They're my way of welcoming spring this year.

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I hope you're all having a great weekend! I hope to do a bunch of homework tonight so I don't have so much to do tomorrow. I'll try to figure out a blog schedule soon but since school is ending it might go back down to once a week for a little while. Anyways, happy Saturday guys! =)

Saint Patrick Nails for Nail Crazy in March!

Yo yo yo my lovely people! Today I have some Saint Patrick nail art to share for Nail Crazy in March!

I'm getting this post up a couple days late because of family stuffs. Enough about that though, let's talk about nails! My lovely boyfriend bought me eight polishes from Harlow & Co last night and I can't freaking wait to get them! Rest assured you'll see some gorgeous KBShimmer, Glam Polish, Polished by KPT and Crows Toes polishes in the near future!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Saint Patrick Nails for Nail Crazy in March

So these nails are based on the myth that Saint Patrick banished all of snakes from Ireland by chasing them into the ocean with his staff. Really though, snakes have never lived in Ireland :P.

Saint Patrick Nails for Nail Crazy in March

Rather than explain how I did these, I'll just embed my Instagram video tutorial down below! As for the polishes, I used American Apparel Mount Royal topped with KBShimmer Will Yule Marry Me? for the ocean, KBShimmer In Bare Form for the sand, Deborah Lippmann Hannah (green) and Jessa (red) for the snakes and Milani 3D Holographic Nail Lacquer 3D for the staff.

Saint Patrick Nails for Nail Crazy in March

I'm officially madly in love with KBShimmer polishes! Both of the ones I used here were so easy to work with and In Bare Form is so holographic and basically my perfect nude!

I really don't think the gold jives well with the rest of these colours and in general these didn't turn out as cool as I thought they would. They're almost a nail fail in my mind, but I'm still happy that I came up with a unique idea for this challenge. What do you guys think of these nails or these KBShimmers? I'd love to know!

Here's the super quick tutorial!

Thanks so much for taking a look guys!! I'm thinking of posting more often on here (like three days a week) since I only have one more midterm (my eighth of the semester :P) to write so I might have some more free time. We'll see! I'm not sure what I'll be back with but it'll be soon! Happy Saturday guys! =)

Gold Ore Nail Art for Week One of Nail Crazy in March!

Hey everyone! Today I have some gold ore nail art to share for this week's prompt of the Nail Crazies Unite challenge; gold!

I kind of think that I've finally figured out my lighting and white balance!! My skin looks the right colour to me for basically the first time ever and I could almost cry about it! I got some new 5000K lightbulbs and I think my camera can custom white balance with them a lot better because it hardly has to change anything.

Anyways, onto the nails!

Gold Ore Nail Art for Week One of Nail Crazy in March!

I started off with two coats of OPI You Don't Know Jacques over a coat of Orly Bonder. After that had dried, I went in with a ball of saran wrap and American Apparel T-shirt, OPI I Sing in Color, OPI Chocolate Moose and then YDKJ in that order.

Gold Ore Nail Art for Week One of Nail Crazy in March!

I decided to add a coat of a sheer white polish (Essie Waltz) to calm down/blend the colours and design a bit. After that, I painted on some gold veins with Milani 3D Holographic Nail Lacquer in 3D and my Winstonia Kolinsky Sable Brush in #0000.

Gold Ore Nail Art for Week One of Nail Crazy in March!

Because I don't have a lot of golds, the only warm one I had was holographic. So I decided to dull that effect (because real gold is not holographic) with a coat of NYC Matte Me Crazy Mattifying Top Coat. After a lot of clean up, I was done!

You can see that whole process very sped up below in my Instagram video tutorial!
