B Squared Lacquer All Aboard Swatch & Review plus a Mrcandiipants Fern Design!

Hey everyone! Today I have a lovely teal scattered holographic polish and some fern/leaf nail art to share!

The end of the semester is really sneaking up on me so I think on the nights I don't have homework (like tonight) I really have to get my butt in gear and work on all of my genetics write-ups! I'm feeling very excited for the semester to end because school has been really overwhelming lately. Anyways, let's get on to the lovely polish to take my mind off things!

B Squared Lacquer All Aboard

B Squared Lacquer All Aboard is a turquoise blue/light tealish blue crelly polish with a scattered holographic effect. This is polish is one of my favourite colours so I absolutely love the look of it! There is also a perfect amount of holo pigment that it doesn't look super silver indoors, meaning it looks awesome inside or outside!

B Squared Lacquer All Aboard

The formula on this polish was an absolute breeze to work with, slightly thick allowing for lots of control and no cuticle-flooding! It appeared to not self level right after I applied it, but rest assured it does while it dries! This polish really impressed me and I'm really excited to try the other polishes I received in the same giveaway!

B Squared Lacquer All Aboard

You can see how this polish self-leveled perfectly here because I didn't use any top coat for these photos! What you see here is three easy coats and no top coat. This polish also dried really fast and it's 3-free! Love it!

B Squared Lacquer All Aboard

I also included some pictures in natural light with the flash on to show off the holographic sparkle! You can also see how freaking shiny this polish dries on its own here! This baby is just too pretty guys.

Mrcandiipants Inspired Fern/Leaf Nail Art

And now we have the nail art! I used an Orly Instant Artist striper polish in the colour Sky Blue for the ferns! This nail art is a MrCandiipants original design and you can watch her Youtube tutorial for these here! The striper uses water-based paint (which I assume means acrylic paint) so it doesn't dry up on the brush or anything lame like that. It was super easy to work with and I love the colour of it next to All Aboard!

Mrcandiipants Inspired Fern/Leaf Nail Art

After the nail art dried I applied one quick coat of the only top coat I ever use, Essie Good to Go! This mani looks super awesome (to me at least) and it hardly took any time at all! It reminds me of tacky tourist shirts so naturally I love it!

What do you guys think of All Aboard or this nail art? I'd love to hear in the comments!

Nude Nails with Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus & Hex Nail Jewelry!

Hey everyone! Today I have a cute neutral mani to share!

I've been busy with assignments and midterms lately and I'm still busy with them so I'll keep this post pretty short! I do know that I have some cool fern nail art to share with you guys next! Onto the nails!

Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus & Hex Nail Jewelry

For these nails I started off with one to two coats of American Apparel California Trooper (one to two because a few nails were a little patchy from a sloppily-applied first coat and needed a second)!

Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus & Hex Nail Jewelry

I then applied one easy coat of Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus, a gorgeous holographic top coat that is much more holo-y than I could capture! Check my Instagram for more accurate pictures of the holo effect!

Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus & Hex Nail Jewelry

Next, I applied a dab of top coat on the centre of two nails and stuck a Hex Nail Jewelry charm on each!

Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus & Hex Nail Jewelry

Finally, I applied a coat of top coat to all of my nails to seal it all in!

Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus & Hex Nail Jewelry

What do you guys think of this simple mani? I'd love to know!

Here is my right hand! I love love LOVE this owl charm so much!

Thanks so much for reading everyone, hopefully I'll have time to be more thorough and talkative in my next post! Happy Tuesday! :)

Rainbow Honey Apple Kid & Watercolour Nail Art!

Hey everyone! Today I have a swatch and review of Rainbow Honey Apple Kid and some watercolour nail art on top to share!

I am super happy today because it's Friday! I do have a bunch of homework and studying to do over the weekend but I'm trying to be less lazy and more motivated so it might not be so bad! I'll be proud of myself for doing the work and putting in the effort! I even decided to dress like I used to today (i.e. less lazily and comfily) to try and get myself back on track. Remember when I was following the Blogilates calendar? I haven't worked out since I stopped and I remember being more motivated for school when I was working out, so I'd like to start up again! Life changes excitement aside, let's get onto the nails!

Rainbow Honey Apple Kid

I decided to wear a pink polish for once the other day, so I reached for one of my many untried Rainbow Honey's, Apple Kid. My camera hates reds and pinks so I think this is showing up a little too pink and not quite red enough here!

Rainbow Honey Apple Kid

This lovely polish was just about a one-coater but I did two just to be sure! I also added a coat of top coat and it dried super shiny (unlike it looks here). Ugh, taking accurate pictures of my nails is an endless struggle, but at least they keep getting better!

Rainbow Honey Apple Kid

Another thing that's a little bit off in these pictures is my skin tone, because dang did this polish make me look pale. I kind of like when a polish does that because it means it's really freaking bright and bold!

Rainbow Honey Apple Kid

The formula and consistency of this polish was awesome, definitely no complaints there! I've just been loving all of my Rainbow Honey's so far!

Watercolour Nail Art

And now we have the nail art! I thinned out blobs of Essie DJ Play that Song (purple), Sally Hansen Fiery Island (orange) and Nyx Girls Bloody Mary (red) with acetone on a piece of paper and painted random blobs of them on my nail! I then messily covered my entire nail with a thinned out coat of American Apparel Angeline (pink) with my nail art brush to tone down and blend some of the colours in better.

Watercolour Nail Art

Next I applied one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust followed by a coat of top coat! It would have been so fun to add some stars and turn these into sunset galaxy nails!

Watercolour Nail Art

Another thing about these pictures is it's hard to see the different colours that were painted on. If you check out my Instagram there is a picture where you can see the different colours better! I think the dulled shine, improper white balance and the fact that it's hard to distinguish between the colours is because like other cameras, my camera hates reds and has difficulty photographing them!

Watercolour Nail Art

Thanks so much for reading everyone! How do you feel about this nail art or Rainbow Honey Apple Kid? I'd love to know! Happy Friday! =)

Illamasqua Viridian Swatch and Review & Half Moon Heart Nail Art!

Hey everyone! Today I have a swatch and review of Illamasqua Viridian and some nail art on top to share!

Hey guys, how are you doing? I'm a little nervous and very curious to get my organic chem midterm back today! They are only worth 10% so I'll try not to beat myself up if I don't do super well! Every time I finish a midterm in that class I tell myself I have to start studying sooner than the night before for the next one but it never happens! :P

Illamasqua Viridian

If you follow me on Instagram you'll know I actually painted and wore these nails about two weeks ago, but I got a bit ahead of myself and kept not posting them. So here they are today! Because these are older pictures they were just automatically white balanced after being taken (not custom white balanced in my light box prior to being taken) so they might be a little off. I'll take a little off any day when I look back at how off my white balance has been!

Illamasqua Viridian

I remember wearing just one coat of Viridian the first time I wore it, but this time I wore two coats and a coat of top coat! It had a perfect formula and consistency and it seemed to dry quickly! I really love this polish and I've since bought another Illamasqua polish because of it (Facet if you're wondering)! Props to my friend Sarah for buying me this lovely and making me want a ton more! ;)

Illamasqua Viridian

I think this polish is prettier and glowier than it looks in these pictures, too bad my light box is where pretty shimmer and glitter go to die!

Illamasqua Viridian

Another thing I love about Illamasqua polishes are their bottles! They look so classy and ritzy. I also quite like the brush that they come with, it made application very easy!

Half Moon Heart Nail Art

Now for the nail art! Using the bottle from the brush, I painted heart-like shapes in Zoya Kristen over my base. I was going to go in with another heart shape with another polish, but I decided I really liked these as is!

Half Moon Heart Nail Art

Kristen is a grey blue hybrid and it can lean one way more than the other depending on what you pair it with. It looks colour-accurate here, but I did feel like it looked more grey next to the green in real life!

Half Moon Heart Nail Art

What do you guys think of these nails? They're super quick to do but really interesting to look at. I think they look quite chic! Also, does anyone know the proper term for these? I've called them half moon hearts in my title because I have no idea haha!

Half Moon Heart Nail Art

Thanks so much for reading everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely start to the week! I'll be back soon with a super bright pink polish (Rainbow Honey Apple Kid) and some nail art on top! Happy Tuesday! =)

Black Sheep Lacquer Grey Ghost plus Lace and Peacock Feather Nail Art!

Hey everyone! Today I have a swatch and review of Black Sheep Lacquer Grey Ghost and some nail art on top to share!

I'm pretty excited because in the week that's coming up I have no midterms! Except that means I should really be working on my 1-2 page write-ups and 12-15 page term paper for genetics. I've only done one of the 6-8 write-ups and I haven't started the paper except for an outline (because it was due a few weeks ago). I wouldn't be Bailey if I didn't do stuff like procrastinate so oh well haha! Onto the nails!

Black Sheep Lacquer Grey Ghost

What you see here is two easy coats of Grey Ghost and a coat of top coat! This polish has the most gorgeous scattered holographic shimmer and in the Sun it almost looks as if each holographic particle is partially translucent. It is seriously gorgeous and I can't not look at it when it's sunny!

Black Sheep Lacquer Grey Ghost

Oh and have I mentioned it's also a thermal? It goes from white/really light grey to dark grey when it goes from hot to cold!

Black Sheep Lacquer Grey Ghost

Here is a little collage so I don't bombard you with 12 pictures instead of 9 (technically this collage is one picture and not four right?)! When you aren't in the Sun or similar lighting and this polish is cold, you can see the holographic pigment as silver really well! Gorgeous!

Black Sheep Lacquer Grey Ghost

You can see the awesome translucent-looking holographic particles in this picture taken above my light box!

Black Sheep Lacquer Grey Ghost

Oh how I love grey polishes, they're perfect bases for nail art of any kind or colour! And I just love watching my nail art and entire mani look different and changing colour in different temperatures!

Lace and Peacock Nail Art

And here we have the nail art! The design on my thumb, middle and ring finger nails is a copy of part of Lindsey of Wondrously Polished lace nail art that you can find here! She is amazingly talented at nail art and I always love every single mani she does! Check her out if you haven't already!

Lace and Peacock Nail Art

For my index and pinky finger I stamped a peacock feather design from the Bundle Monster plate BM-212!

Lace and Peacock Nail Art

I used another Black Sheep Lacquer polish for the free-hand and stamping bits here called Dragon Scale. It's a gorgeous two-coater teal polish with glitter and a bit of a duochrome effect! I swatched and reviewed this baby last summer so here's a link to that post if you want to see a swatch or review of it!

Lace and Peacock Nail Art

Did you notice that the nail art pictures look a little better white balanced? I think I finally figured out how to do it on the camera I use! Squee!!!!

Thank you so much for reading everyone! What are you guys up to on this Saturday afternoon? And what do you think of this polish and this nail art? Let me know in the comments! Happy March! :)

Above the Curve Doctor Who Collection Part 1: Relative Dimensions and Slitheen

Hey everyone! Today I'm back with the other two polishes from part one of Above the Curve's Doctor Who Collection!

I'm happy to report that my midterm went better than I thought it would! I'll find out my mark next week so I'll know for sure pretty soon! Anyways, onto the nails!

Above the Curve Relative Dimensions

I'm going to start right off by saying that after I applied my top coat, this polish (called Relative Dimensions) seemed to change colour (become darker and warmer) and the holographic effect was dulled. I had just combined two half-empty Essie Good to Go top coats and it did feel quite thick when I applied it, so maybe it was something to do with that? The brush in the bottle was a bit wonky so maybe that had something to do with it too? It was crazy shiny on it's own so if your top coat makes it change colour just skip the top coat!

Above the Curve Relative Dimensions

The formula and consistency of this polish was perfect as I've come to expect with Above the Curve polishes! I used two coats and a coat of top coat for these photos!

Above the Curve Relative Dimensions

This polish is a fairly cool-toned medium purple polish stuffed with holographic pigment! I'm sorry that my pictures aren't accurate, but you can check out other swatches by some lovely ladies on Above the Curve's Facebook page!

Above the Curve Relative Dimensions

This one is super gorgeous, I really love it!

Above the Curve Relative Dimensions

Above the Curve Slitheen

Next up we have Slitheen, a dark green holographic polish. This is what the finish of Relative Dimensions looked like before top coat, except this is after top coat!

Above the Curve Slitheen

Again, perfect formula and consistency! I love my greens and this polish is such a unique shade of green!

Above the Curve Slitheen

This is also just two coats of polish and a coat of top coat!

Thanks so much for reading everyone! Sorry for another brief post, I just really wanted to get this post up tonight! Happy Thursday! =)
