Rainbow Geometric Nail Art Inspired by MrCandiipants and my Samsung Galaxy S5 Background!

Hello everyone! Today I have some rainbow geometric nail art to share!

I have a bit of a break in my midterms right now so I'm trying to study a bit everyday so I can be more consistent with my blogging! I think part of me needed a break from blogging to get adjusted to university and all of the changes that go along with it. I have a cell biology class starting soon so I'm very happy that I was able to bang this post out and get it up for you lovely people!

For this look I just used a very small paint brush with short bristles and painted on random geometric shapes. Next time I'll try to use an even thinner brush as well as maybe a longer one for sharper corners! These were inspired by this design by MrCandiipants as well as the well-known Samsung Galaxy S5 background (because I just got this phone and I'm loving it)!

I used a whole lot of colours for this look as I'm sure you can tell! The white base is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and then from red to purple and then pink, in rainbow order: OPI Red Hot Rio, OPI Toucan Do It If You Try, American Apparel Neon Yellow, Color Club Edie, Julep Claire, Essie DJ Play That Song, and American Apparel Angeline.

Once everything had dried I did the hairspray trick (sprayed all of my nails with a thin layer of hairspray and let it dry) so I wouldn't smudge my design with my top coat. Once the hairspray had dried I just applied one coat of Essie Good to Go Topcoat!

Above is my elusive right hand! I find it really hard to pose this hand the way I normally do with my left hand so I usually do this pose because it's comfortable and easy to hold steady.

What do you guys think of these nails? I'd love to hear in the comments!

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I'll be back with some Born Pretty Store reviews very soon! Happy Thursday! =)

Nails I've Never Posted: Take One!

Hey everyone! Today I have five manis I've never posted to share!

So I guess I shouldn't make promises about when I'm going to post next, I should just do it as often as I can and get into some kind of schedule :P. I had some pictures ready to go several days ago but they were so colour inaccurate that I didn't see any reason to post them. After that, a cold hit me like a ton of bricks that I'm still suffering from. There's this constant phlegm in my throat that no amount of water will displace (sorry if tmi) so I feel like I'm almost choking all day long. After taking a bit of a break from nails and a massive break from reading the blogs I follow (that I'm not sure I can ever catch up on) I really am excited and madly in love with nails again!

School-wise things have been pretty boring and all of my lectures have been reviews. There is one class that will be definitely include things I haven't heard before and one that will probably involve some new stuff, but it looks like my other two classes cover exactly the same things as the second year versions of them. Hopefully they'll be in slightly more detail or else what the heck am I paying for? :P Anyways, onto the nails!

Sonnetarium Raspberry Sorbet

First up we have Sonnetarium Raspberry Sorbet, which is surprisingly orange and maybe slightly different than the majority of the ones they sell. I love it anyway and I'll have to wear it again and get some proper swatch pics! I think this is two coats (but I think it would have benefitted from a third) and definitely a coat of top coat!

Sonnetarium Cucumber Salad

Next up we have another adorable Sonnetarium polish called Cucumber Salad! What you see here is two coats (I think) and a coat of top coat!

Here we have the only nail art I did while in Switzerland, using two coats (I think) of Sinful Colors Dreamer, some OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around and a coat of top coat. I really love my nails this short and the next time you see them they'll be about this short!

Revlon Entice

Next we have the only other nails I did in Switzerland, just two coats of Revlon Entice and a coat of top coat (again, probably two coats, I'm not 100% positive).

Sonia Kashuk Sweet Dreams

Finally, we have a horribly colour inaccurate picture of the polish I mentioned at the beginning of this post. This is one super easy coat of Sonia Kashuk Sweet Dreams, a much more purple polish than it looks here. It is still a pink polish but it has quite a bit of purple mixed in. Below you can see a much more colour accurate picture of it that I posted on my Instagram!

What do you guys think of any of these looks? I'd love to know in the comments!

Thanks so much for having a look everyone! Again, I'm not sure what I'll have for you next but I'll probably paint my nails tonight and post a picture on Instagram! I also have at least four more manis I've never posted on here to share in another post like this! Happy Friday! =)

Butter London All Hail The Queen Swatch & Review!

Hello my lovely readers! Today I have a swatch of a gorgeous neutral polish called Butter London All Hail The Queen to share!

I know it has been forever and a day since I posted but now that I'm back at school (and therefore back into a routine) I'll be back to posting every two or three days! I find my posting is more frequent and less sporadic when I'm in school despite the decrease in free time, probably because I already have a bit of a schedule going on so I'm kind of in planning mode. Anyways, onto the nails!

Butter London All Hail The Queen

I ordered this polish quite a while ago when Butter London had a sale going on as well as a free shipping over blank dollars promotion. I've come to realize I have a mad love for brown polishes but I still sometimes worry that they're a bit boring. That's definitely not the case with this mid-toned holographic beauty!

Butter London All Hail The Queen

Hidden in this polish is also a very fine pink shimmer, so when you're out in the Sun and you look at the glare on your nails it's more pink than white! I really love the added shimmer because it makes the polish even more interesting and it was a lovely surprise to notice!

Butter London All Hail The Queen

What you see here is two coats and a coat of top coat, which isn't fully opaque when you hold your nails up to the Sun. That's okay with me because I was in a hurry and it's opaque enough for my light box!

Butter London All Hail The Queen

This polish applied like the first half of the brand's name, butter! It was so easy to work with and so fast-drying, and even though I used the same top coat I always use (Essie Good to Go) this polish looked even shinier than most!

Butter London All Hail The Queen

What do you guys think of this polish or Butter London polishes in general? I'd love to know in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading everyone! I'm actually still wearing this polish as I type this so I'm not sure what kind of nails I'll have for you next! Happy Thursday! =)

Wedding Nails Roundup Number One Featuring a Green Floral Double Gradient!

Hey everyone! Today I have five manis that four other people and I wore to a wedding last weekend!

I'm getting really scared about school starting soon guys! I'm transferring to university from college and it's so much bigger and it's stressing me out. I went in today to get my student card/bus pass and I really don't know my way around at all :P. I might bus there before school starts to know where I get off my bus and where the buildings I have classes in are in relation to the bus stop. Maybe that will make me less nervous about going there, here's hoping! Anyways, onto the nails!

Wedding Nails Roundup

These are the bride's mother's nails that kind of look like opals! The base is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the fancy top coat is Essie Shine of the Times as you may have guessed!

Wedding Nails Roundup

Next up we have the bride herself's nails! The base is Revlon Jaded and the glitter polish is OPI In True Stefani Fashion.

Wedding Nails Roundup

Here we have my mom's nails wearing just two easy coats of OPI Chocolate Moose!

Wedding Nails Roundup

Next we have my grandma's nails! I do her nails really often and for any special occasion she has coming up and it's always so fun! Here she's wearing American Apparel Coney Island with Black Sheep Lacquer Forbidden Fruit on top!

Wedding Nails Roundup

My grandma came by later that day to get her nails done so she didn't make it into this cute picture and I didn't even think to put my hand in!

Green Floral Double Gradient Nail Art

Lastly, we have my own nails as I'm sure you can tell! As usual, these are inspired by the lovely MrCandiipants!

Green Floral Double Gradient Nail Art

I started off with two coats of OPI Stranger Tides and allowed that to dry. Next I sponged Revlon Spanish Moss on the tips of my nail (not that and Stranger Tides as I wasn't really going for a smooth gradient look). I then went in with OPI OPI... Eurso Euro and a small nail art brush for the petals, followed by OPI Fiercely Fiona and a dotting tool for the flower centres.

Green Floral Double Gradient Nail Art

After that had dried I gave my nails a spray of hairspray and let that dry before applying my top coat (Essie Good to Go)! The more I looked at these when I wore them and the more I look at them now the more I like them; I wasn't totally sure about them at first.

Green Floral Double Gradient Nail Art

What do you guys think of these five nail looks? Do you like the look of the almost double gradient, with the sponging and the flower concentration? I really do and I want to play around with this idea some more!

Green Floral Double Gradient Nail Art

Thanks so much for having a look everyone! We're on a little road trip on our way to another wedding which should be fun! I brought polish so I might do another wedding post like this with my mom's, sister's and my nails very soon! Happy Friday! =)

Peachy Yellow to Pink Gradient!

Hey everyone! Today I have a peachy gradient to share!

Whew, it feels like I've been so busy lately! I've fallen very behind in reading blog posts from the lovely ladies I follow, and clearly I haven't been blogging myself lately! My family has three weddings to go to in the next three weekends and all four of us will be taking pictures or videos at least two of them! So things are getting a little crazy leading up to our first wedding in two days.

Peachy Yellow to Pink Gradient

In addition to taking pictures I'm also the nail girl for many people going to these different weddings! For the wedding this weekend (in other words, tomorrow) I'm doing the bride's, her mother's, my grandma's, and probably my mom's, my sister's and my nails! I'll be sure to take pictures and I think I'll do a blog post about them! Anyways, onto these nails!

Peachy Yellow to Pink Gradient

To start I applied two thickish coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and a coat of top coat (Essie Good to Go). The next day I painted stripes of OPI I Just Can't Cope-a-cabana, Essie Tart Deco, and Essie Cute as a Button on a damp makeup sponge, and sponged one to two coats on all of my nails. I applied one more coat of top coat and I was done!

Peachy Yellow to Pink Gradient

I wore these nails for a crazy amount of time; eight days for the white base and a week for the gradient! See how busy I've been? :P These pictures were taken on day four of the gradient, and even on day seven there was only tip wear to the point of seeing the white base, not my nail!

Peachy Yellow to Pink Gradient

Thanks so much for reading everyone! What do you think of these nails? I'd love to hear in the comments! I have a gorgeous textured polish to share with you very soon! Happy Thursday! =)

Rainbow Honey Summer Mixtape Collection: Elevate, Control & Shark Attack!

Hello my lovely readers! Today I have a review of some gorgeous Rainbow Honey polishes from their new Summer Mixtape collection to share!

I seriously think that Rainbow Honey has been putting out polishes unique to other indie brands from day one and I have not once been disappointed in their products. No offense intended whatsoever but these guys are my favourite! Other indie brands wouldn't have added the shimmer to Elevate, used two very different colours of shimmer in Control, or thrown some red glitters into Shark Attack, so I really appreciate and love the extra thought and creativity that goes into their polishes.

That said, I would (obviously) completely recommend you guys picking up some of their lovely polishes, using the code MIXTAPE20 for 20% off your order, and taking part in some of their free shipping or free polish/mystery bag (see my review of the July one here) deals by spending a certain amount of money! I am very tempted myself and I'm wondering if my parents would fund a little RH shopping spree in celebration of being awarded a transfer scholarship to the university I'll be attending in the fall! Onto the polishes!

Rainbow Honey Elevate

First up we have Elevate, a clear-based glitter topper with a whole lotta matte glitter and even some of Rainbow Honey's signature blue to pink multichrome shimmer flakies! I swear the flakies are also iridescent, they are seriously amazing!

Rainbow Honey Elevate

The formula was lovely and I was able to spread the glitters out evenly with just a few extra swipes of the brush! I didn't end up with any green glitters on my nails so I purposefully placed one on my middle finger to show that they're in there! I probably should have let the polish sit upside down longer before polishing so I could have got some green glitters out without fishing.

Rainbow Honey Elevate

What you see here is only one coat of Elevate over two coats of Quo by Orly Lilac Lust, plus a coat of top coat!

Rainbow Honey Elevate

Rainbow Honey Control

Next we have Control, a neon pink crelly with gold and those same blue to pink multichrome shimmer flakies as other gorgeous RH polishes! I could have sworn there was another colour of shimmer in there but I don't have the bottle on me to check. Perhaps I saw two different colours of the multichrome shimmer? I included the picture above so you guys could get an idea of how bright this polish is. Picture that but even brighter!

Rainbow Honey Control

The formula was flawless, self-leveling, quick-drying and a perfect consistency. Like many neon polishes, this baby dried to a satin finish which is always a fun surprise!

Rainbow Honey Control

This polish was close to a one-coater but I went for two coats for full opacity. I also added a coat of top coat for consistency and so you could see this polish all shiny-ed up!

Rainbow Honey Control

Rainbow Honey Shark Attack

Finally we have Shark Attack, a medium blue jelly with tons of sizes and shapes of metallic blue glitter, green microglitter and small red hexagon glitter!

Rainbow Honey Shark Attack

Another wonderful formula here, slightly thick due to all the glitter but that gave me a lot of control. It's hard to clean up glitter polishes if you get any glitter where you don't want it, so the added control was greatly appreciated!

Rainbow Honey Shark Attack

What you see here is two easy coats and a coat of top coat! There is a little bit of VNL but that doesn't bother me and I loved the depth and look of this polish at two coats too much to add another coat!

Rainbow Honey Shark Attack

What do you guys think of these polishes or Rainbow Honey in general? I'd love to know in the comments! I love when you guys leave me comments!

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I hope you're having a good start to your weekend! I'll be back with some simple nail art on a pretty green base very soon! Happy Friday! =)

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag Review & Swatches!

Hello my lovely readers! Today I have a review of the Rainbow Honey Mini July Mystery Bag (link here) to share!

I am officially back from Switzerland! I'm very happy to be back to my light box and sister's nice camera so I can get back to blogging! The trip was really amazing and it was so great to hang out with our friend Anna for a month. Surprisingly, I only picked up two polishes while I was away (both by the brand Kiko) which I'll be blogging about soon!

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag

The night we got back I was super excited to learn that I'd come home to a package from Rainbow Honey! In addition to the mystery bag I got three new polishes to review, so keep an eye out for another Rainbow Honey post very soon! Above you can see the adorable packaging their mystery bags come in!

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag

Everything came packaged very well so there's no need to worry about of ending up with broken bottles or product explosions.

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag

As you can see, everything is also packaged close together so there's no way for any products to bang into each other with any considerable force!

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag

Did I mention you get a whole lot of stuff for a small amount of money? These mini mystery bags retail for just 10 American dollars plus shipping! Shipping is free if you spend 50 dollars or more for America and 75 dollars or more for Canada, and you better believe I made sure to spend at least 75 dollars last time I ordered haha! Also, if you spend 65 dollars or more you can get this mini mystery bag as a free gift which is awesome!

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag

This month's mystery bag came with three mini (5mL) polishes, a 4mL eau de parfum rollerball, a 29mL cooling gel and a 4.25g scented cuticle balm. All three body products are in the scent midori; a fresh melon scent!

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag

The rollerball perfume goes on easily and dries quickly for a nice light summery scent! The cooling gel is very effective, if you don't fully rub it in it stays wet and continues to cool you off for quite a while! It has some really pretty and subtle blurple and green shimmer flakies that makes it extra summery, as well as the same delicious scent as the perfume!

Rainbow Honey Cuticle Balm

Finally, the cuticle balm is thinner than most, (which I absolutely love!) non-greasy, and fast absorbing! It does that thing where most of if sinks in but you're left with a layer of protection from moisture-loss which I really love! You can see above and below how nails and cuticles freshly swiped with pure acetone look with (thumb, middle finger and pinkie) and without (index and ring finger) the cuticle balm on top!

Rainbow Honey Cuticle Balm

This cuticle balm adds hardly any shine to pictures even when it's freshly applied so I think it's going to be my new go to cuticle product before I take pictures! I also really love the formula so I'll probably by using it all the time!

Rainbow Honey July Mystery Bag

Now, onto the polishes! Each mini Rainbow Honey polish comes in a tall skinny bottle with a long and skinny brush that picks up globs of polish full of glitter really well!

Rainbow Honey Viridis

First up we have Viridis, a clear-based glitter topper stuffed with shimmer, microglitter and full-on glitter in various shapes, finishes, colours and sizes! Some of the glitters are partially transparent so this beauty will look different over different base colours! Here I've layered one coat of Viridis over two coats of Revlon Espresso, no top coat.

Rainbow Honey Viridis

Like I said, what you see here is only one coat of this polish because the glitter is so densely-packed! This is also the result of hardly any dabbing, mostly just applying the glitter topper as if it was a normal polish!

Rainbow Honey Viridis

The dry time seemed really awesome and the glitters were so smooth and flat that I didn't even see a need to use top coat for these swatches!

Rainbow Honey Viridis

Rainbow Honey Chemical Plant

Next up we have Chemical Plant, a very densely-packed clear-based shimmer polish. Despite the clear base I was able to reach opacity in just two easy coats! The shimmer in this baby consists of rose gold/copper coloured flakies, much smaller pink shimmer and even a small amount of blurple shimmer! When the light hits this polish its shimmer mix gives it a duochromey look which is pretty freaking cool!

Rainbow Honey Chemical Plant

What you see here is two easy coats and a coat of top coat!

Rainbow Honey Chemical Plant

Again, dry time was good and application was awesome!

Rainbow Honey Chemical Plant

Rainbow Honey Deep Heart Sea

Finally we have Deep Heart Sea, a slightly green-tinted medium blue jelly with intense pink to blue multichrome shimmer and a whole bunch of matte and pearl finish glitters! The base is a little more green and a little more dark in the bottle than in these pictures, mostly because with all of the glitters you don't need the base to be opaque for the whole polish to be opaque... know what I mean? There are even some white heart glitters thrown in as you can see on my pinky nail, so cute!

Rainbow Honey Deep Heart Sea

The formula on this one was a little thicker than the other two but still entirely manageable! The added thickness gave me more control and it didn't dry so fast that trying to cover your whole nail turned the polish into a gloopy mess. Basically it was a really good consistency for something so packed with glitter!

Rainbow Honey Deep Heart Sea

What you see here is two coats and a coat of top coat!

Rainbow Honey Deep Heart Sea

Whew! You've made it to the end of this massive photo-heavy post! Rainbow Honey included a 20% off coupon code for me to share with you guys to use on your next order! Enter MIXTAPE20 at the checkout before August 31st to get 20% off your order!

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! What do you think of these polishes or products or Rainbow Honey stuff in general? I love it all and I really think they make polishes unique to other indie brands! I'll be back with one more Born Pretty Store review and one more Rainbow Honey review soon so stay tuned! Happy Sunday! =)
