Girly Bits Cosmetics Hoop! There It Is Collection Swatch & Review!

Hey everyone! Today I have swatches of the Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is collection to share!

All of the swatches are without top coat except for the glitter topper; You Spin Me Round. Excuse my peely nail beds in some of the pictures (I really should have just used top coat)! I would describe the polishes as crellies for the most part, though a few are definitely cremes. I'll try to describe their true colours because as we all know, photographing neons accurately is a major challenge!

I had no issues with the formula so all of the polishes were lovely to use! The cremes/crellies all dried down to a satin finish which is always cool!

Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is collection

Here is a picture of the collection taken with my phone. Sadly, my phone does a way better job at capturing the colours accurately than my sister's Canon Rebel that I use for pictures. I would say these colours are all very accurate except for the middle pink, You're My Hooper Hero, as it is more orange-toned in real life.

Onto the swatches!

Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is

First up we have the collection's namesake; Hoop! There It Is! It is a neon coral polish that is a tad more orange and even more bright in person! Shown here is two coats!

Girly Bits These Hips Don't Lie

Next up we have These Hips Don't Lie! THDL is a highlighter yellow polish that is brighter and a little bit more green in person. I used three coats for the opacity you see here!

Girly Bits Hooperchondriac

Here we have Hooperchondriac, a neon yellow-toned green polish. This one is showing up way too pale and not yellow-toned enough in these pictures. Shown here is three coats!

Girly Bits Hip Hoop Hurray!

Next we have Hip Hoop Hurray!, a warm-toned purple! This picture is bang-on colour-wise except for the fact that it is a little darker in person. This was two coats!

Girly Bits You're My Hooper Hero

Here we have You're My Hooper Hero, a bright warm-toned pink shade! Again, this one is a little more orange than either cameras would like to capture. Shown is three coats!

Girly Bits Don't Paddle Break A Nail

Here we have Don't Paddle Break A Nail, a cool-toned pink. This one is a little darker in person and this was two coats!

Girly Bits I've Got High Hoops

Next up we have I've Got High Hoops, a medium blue! This one looks pretty good except it's a bit darker and a smidge less purple in person. Shown is two coats!

Girly Bits It's Hoop To Be Square

Here we have three coats of It's Hoop To Be Square, a pale yellow-toned green ! This one is looking a little too pale and maybe the tiniest bit more yellow than in real life.

Girly Bits Get Indie Flow

Next we have Get Indie Flow, a blue-toned purple polish! This one also looks bang on except it is a little too pale! Shown is two coats!

Girly Bits Thump Your Melons

Here we have two coats of Thump Your Melons, a medium-toned orange! In real life this polish is a bit lighter and less yellow-toned.

Girly Bits You Spin Me Round over Girly Bits Hip Hoop Hurray!

Lastly, we have You Spin Me Round, a clear-based glitter topper with white, black and holographic microglitters! This is one coat of YSMR and a coat of top coat over Hip Hoop Hurray!!

Overall I really love this collection. I'm happy to add some neons to collection because I really don't have many! What do you guys think of these polishes? I have about five more posts to get up so I better get on them before I get more behind! Happy Tuesday guys! :)

Ferns & Flowers Inspired by Wondrously Polished Using the Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is Collection!

Hello my lovelies! Today I have a tropical look using seven of the Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is collection polishes, inspired by a design by Lindsey of Wondrously Polished!

I am still very busy with volunteering and tutoring, and yesterday I found out I have an iron deficiency. That could explain why I'm so lazy and exhausted all of the time! :P Hopefully the super nasty liquid iron I've started taking will really help with my energy levels! Maybe then I'll be able to find the time to blog more often than once a week!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Ferns & Flowers Inspired by Wondrously Polished Using the Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is Collection

I started off with one super opaque coat of American Apparel Hassid. I really love AA polishes and so many of them are one coaters which is always amazing!

Next, I went in with seven of the ten cremes/crellies of the Hoop! There It Is collection. For the ferns I used Hooperchondriac (medium green) and then It's Hoop To Be Square (pale green) on top. For the flowers I used Hoop! There It Is (coral), Don't Paddle Break A Nail (pink, the one shown in the bottle shot), and Get Indie Flow (blue-toned purple) for the petals and then Thump Your Melons (orange) and These Hips Don't Lie (yellow) for the dots.

As always I did both hands, but this time I forgot to take pictures of my right hand until there was too much tip wear for pictures.

What do you guys think of this design? I like the sheer look of the flowers with the opaque fern fronds behind!

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I'll try to start posting more than once a week on here, maybe once the iron kicks in I'll have enough energy to do so! I'll be back with some neon half moon floral nails as well as swatches of half of the Girly Bits HTII collection soon! Happy Wednesday! =)

Multicoloured Fern Fronds For Nail Crazy In April!

Hey everyone, tonight I have some ferny nails to share!

I'm going to make this a short post because I'm officially starting my volunteer work tomorrow! Also, last week I didn't get my blog post in the InLinkz thing in time and I don't want that to happen again! I decided to loosely follow the prompt and do some earthy nails this time around as I missed the actual holiday by a week (and therefore didn't want to wear some clearly Earth Day inspired nails).

Anyways, onto the nails!

Multicoloured Fern Fronds For Nail Crazy In April Featuring American Apparel Polishes

To start, I applied two coats of China Glaze Red-y To Rave. It had a super lovely and opaque formula! I think it is brighter and lighter in real life, it's definitely neon!

Next, I went in with a Winstonia striping brush and American Apparel The Valley (aqua/light blue), AA Dynasty (purple) and AA Malibu Green (green/teal).

These were inspired by the lovely MrCandiipants as per usual!

I'm not totally sold on the colour palette just yet but it always takes me a bit of time to form an opinion on any new nail art I do. So we'll see!

I tried out other poses (with my purple triangle nails that you'll be seeing soon) and this is really is the best looking one this hand can do! :P

Thanks so much for taking a look guys! Let me know what you think of these nails in the comments if you like! Happy Wednesday! =)

Yellow to Blue Gradient Topped with a Grid Design!

Hey everyone! Today I have a grid-topped gradient to share!

I meant to get this post up yesterday but I guess it's nice to have a bit of a break between my posts like usual! It sounds like there are going to be some volunteer opportunities open to me in a lab at my school which I'm really excited about! In the meantime I've been painting my family's and my nails and playing lots of Mario Party 10! If you follow me on Instagram you'll know I ordered the whole Hoop! There It Is collection from Girly Bits Cosmetics recently. I am beyond excited and it should be here any day now so get ready for either a huge swatch post featuring all eleven polishes or a few posts to break it up a bit!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Yellow to Blue Gradient Topped with a Grid Design Featuring American Apparel Polishes

I started off with two coats of OPI You're So Vain-illa and a coat of top coat. The formula was okay and it wasn't completely opaque at two coats, but it was good enough for the base of a gradient!

Yellow to Blue Gradient Topped with a Grid Design Featuring American Apparel Polishes

Next, I went in with a damp makeup sponge and American Apparel Sunshine State (yellow), American Apparel Cresent Heights (chartreuse) and China Glaze Wait N Sea (blue)! I sponged on two to three layers to get the opacity I wanted.

I like to apply a coat of top coat right after I've finished a gradient to try and blend the colours even further, so that's what I did next.

Yellow to Blue Gradient Topped with a Grid Design Featuring American Apparel Polishes

After that had dried, I went in with American Apparel Hassid and a striping brush from Winstonia Store to do all of the lines. Check out my Instagram if you'd like to see a sped up version of this whole process!

One thick and careful coat of top coat and I was finished! I realized later that these were probably subconsciously inspired by the awesome and hilarious Cynthia of Of Life and Lacquer's chain link fence gradient nails

I wore this look for about three days and I really loved doing so! I did these when I should have been studying and they took a decent amount of time so I'm glad I got some wear out of them!

Here is my right hand! I should probably try and find a pose that it is actually good at doing one day :P.

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I have a negative space rose look to get up next so stay tuned! Happy Monday y'all! =)

Textured Black Nails with Mint Chevrons Featuring Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich!

Hello everyone! Today I have some simple chevron nails to share!

This will probably be the first of two posts you'll be seeing from me today so I'll keep this one short! I'm trying to get caught up on here so why not! No news yet on the volunteer opportunity but I'll keep you guys posted!

Onto the nails!

Textured Black Nails with Mint Chevrons Featuring Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich

To start, I applied two coats of one of the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat polishes called Lick-O-Rich.

A few days later, I went in with Revlon Entice just with the brush from the bottle for some quick chevrons!

Textured Black Nails with Mint Chevrons Featuring Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich

This is one of the four manis I did for the WNAC challenge this April, before realizing they were all supposed to be pastel. I really can't believe I did that! I must have been really stressed at school because it was right on the picture I regrammed to say I'd be doing the challenge! :P

Textured Black Nails with Mint Chevrons Featuring Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich

Here is my other hand! Whether I include it in a post or not only depends on how well it can pose that day, I always do a design on both hands!

Thanks so much for taking a look guys! I wasn't sure if I should blog about these or not but I decided to continue the tradition of blogging about every look I wear! I'll be back with some grid-topped gradient nails! Happy Sunday guys! :)

Sassy Derp Cat Watercolour Nails for Nail Crazy in April!

Hey everyone! Today I have a super quick post about some groovy cat-topped watercolour nails!

These are my baby animals for this week of nail crazy in March. Too bad it doesn't look like a baby cat :P. I am now free from finals and school for a bunch of months so I'll be posting a ton!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Sassy Derp Cat Watercolour Nails for Nail Crazy in April featuring American Apparel Polishes

I started off with two coats of American Apparel Parakeet and a coat of top coat. Next, I mixed up some American Apparel Malibu Green with a bunch of cheap clear polish. I blotted that mixture on in random areas, added a coat of top coat and most of my nails were done!

Sassy Derp Cat Watercolour Nails for Nail Crazy in April featuring American Apparel Polishes

For the super derp cat, I used American Apparel Hassid (black) and T-shirt (white). A thick coat of top coat and I was done!

The cat didn't come out very well, but at least he looks sassy haha. I left myself hardly any time to do these so oh well!

Springy Water Marble with Purple Flowers for Nail Crazy in April!

Hey everyone! Today I have the first water marble nails I've done in years to share!

Today's post will be a bit of a quick one because I need to get back to studying! One final exam down, three to go! I can't wait until a little over a week from now when I'll be free for over four months! How crazy is that? That in itself should be enough to motivate me to study. When I put it that way I feel like I can work hard until I'm finished! Somehow I've just motivated myself, that's a first haha :P.

Anyways, onto the nails!

Springy Water Marble with Purple Flowers for Nail Crazy in April

I've been using a cup a little bit bigger than a shot glass to do my water marbles, and because it's quite a small glass, the colours stay so opaque that you don't need a white base! So what you see here is just the colours themselves over the base coat I always use (Orly Bonder)!

Springy Water Marble with Purple Flowers for Nail Crazy in April

For the water marble I used all American Apparel colours: T-shirt (white), The Valley (dusty blue/aqua), Mount Royal (navy blue) and Crescent Heights (chartreuse green).

Springy Water Marble with Purple Flowers for Nail Crazy in April

Because I'm a water marbling newbie, I bumped my ring finger nail either with the toothpick or onto the inside of the glass (I don't remember which, too much studying :P). Because I remembered that I had this prompt coming up, I decided to add flowers overtop of where I messed up my nail. I used China Glaze Plur-ple for the petals and American Apparel Neon Yellow for the centres of the flowers.

After that, I just went in with a coat of top coat and I was finished! I feel like these came out quite well, especially after not doing this technique for a long time!

What do you guys think of this look? Also, are any of you guys writing finals soon/now? I'd love to hear in the comments!

Papaya Nail Art Featuring KBShimmer Periwinkle In Time!

Hello everybody! Today I have some papaya nails as well as a gorgeous KBShimmer polish to share!

It is the morning of my second-to-last day of school and I am so freaking excited to be finished as you may know! Now to get studying! :P I think I really need the four-month break we have from school, I've been sleeping as much as I usually do but I've still been so tired lately. The semester just needs to be over! My finals are quite spread out which is nice, but it also means I don't finish until late this month. Are you guys almost done school for the semester and are finals approaching? I'd love to know!

Onto the nails!

Papaya Nail Art Featuring KBShimmer Periwinkle In Time!

I did these nails before I nubbinized my nails as you may notice! I kind of think I cut them too short when I do this every few weeks because I can't wrap my tips without making a mess. They'll be back to this length in a few weeks anyway though! They grow so fast and I'm so lazy about cutting and/or filing them so I let them grow out and then chop them short, as you've probably noticed :P. I try to think of it as a good thing, like, whether you like short nails or long nails I'll always cycle through both!

Papaya Nail Art Featuring KBShimmer Periwinkle In Time!

For my blue/periwinkle nails, I just applied three easy coats of KBShimmer Periwinkle In Time and a coat of top coat (Essie Good to Go). The polish was really easy to work with and I got tons of the larger glitters on basically every nail except my ring finger that you see here! Some of the glitters were even holographic! This is another gorgeous KBShimmer polish with a lovely formula in my books!

Papaya Nail Art Featuring KBShimmer Periwinkle In Time!

As for the papaya nails, I started off with two coats of OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around. Weirdly enough, it ended up looking a lot like My Vampire is Buff when paired with the other colours, despite being a pinky putty off-white nude colour (rather than a yellow-toned off-white nude colour). Next, I went in with OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-go? and an average-sized paint brush for the meat of the papaya, followed by American Apparel Hassid and Crescent Heights on a small paintbrush for the seeds and skin, respectively. I allowed it all to dry and added a thick coat of top coat (again, Essie Good to Go) to avoid smudging my design!

Papaya Nail Art Featuring KBShimmer Periwinkle In Time!

What do you guys think of this polish or these papayas? I'd love to know in the comments!
