Plum Flakie Mani: Shiny and Matte!

Hey everyone! I'm sorry for not posting for a few more days than usual, I have a night lab on Thursday nights and I got busy Friday, so I couldn't repaint my nails until today! Anyway, today I have some shiny and matte flakie nails to share!

For this mani I started off with two coats of Essie Carry On, a lovely crelly plummy brown polish! It's absolutely perfect for fall and winter if you're into matching your nails to the seasons! I feel like I say this about every polish I've talked about lately, but this beauty could be a one-coater if you're careful!

I then went in with a gorgeous flakie top coat, Color Club Covered In Diamonds. Covered In Diamonds is definitely more my kind of flakie polish than Essie Shine Of The Times, though I do own and love both! I've always been more of a cool colour than warm colour girl, what can I say?

After that, I went in with Julep Matte Top Coat, making sure to go even closer to the cuticle than the polish already there did (so I didn't get that glossy-millimetre-right-at-the-cuticle thing that often happens with matte topcoats).

Onto the pictures!

What do you guys think, shiny or matte? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading everyone! Hope you're having a lovely weekend, we're having a turkey dinner tonight just for fun and I can't wait! :)

Rainbow Zig Zag Nail Art!

Hello everyone! Today I have some super fun and cute zig zag nail art to share!

My nails may look a bit bumpy here because I've decided to start a more serious no-buy, despite the fact that I'm almost out of top coat! I'm trying to conserve what little I have left, especially because I often paint other people's nails!

For this look I used a nail art brush I got off of eBay and then cut almost all of the bristles off of. I started off with two coats of OPI Care to Danse? for a sheer base! Then I just dabbed a drop of one colour at a time on a stack of paper and went to work!

Onto the pictures and names of the colours!

Zig Zag Nail Art

From thumb to pinky: Essie DJ Play that Song, Essie Bobbing for Baubles, Essie Tart Deco, Essie Mod Square, and NOPI "Baby" Blue!

Thanks for reading everybody! I'm back into nail art and feeling more like myself, so expect more fun designs! If you guys ever have any requests for a certain colour comparison post, a swatch of a colour, a review of a nail care product, or a certain kind of nail art and/or tutorial just let me know in the comments or on another of my social media pages! :)

Black Sheep Lacquer Swatches: Hitman, First Polish on the Moon and Confused Canary :)

Hello everybody! Today I have three more Black Sheep Lacquer lovelies to show you all! These polishes were generously sent to me for swatches! I think I'll be putting together a black and white glitter topper comparison post soon, because in addition to BSL A Letter to the New York Post I have two other similar toppers.

These polishes had awesome formulas as expected, so onto the pictures!

Black Sheep Lacquer Hitman

First up is Hitman, a very dark grey linear holographic polish with small silver holographic glitters tossed in too! This polish is too beautiful for words, I'd seriously suggest you just buy it! This is one coat over two different dark Essie colours, but as you can see, the polish looks the same over both so any dark colour will work beautifully! I had to post five photos instead of four for this one because it's so gorgeous!

Black Sheep Lacquer First Polish on the Moon

Next is First Polish on the Moon, a neon pink jelly polish with small silver holographic glitter! I took pictures in sunlight to show the holographic glitter and in indirect light to show a more colour-accurate swatch of the polish. This is two coats over two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls!

Black Sheep Lacquer Confused Canary

Lastly, we have Confused Canary, a matte black, white, yellow and pink glitter topper with tiny silver holographic glitter throughout! I think I got every kind of glitter on my nails except the matte white bar glitter, in case you're wondering what glitters this polish contains! This is one coat over my undies, China Glaze For Audrey (turquoise), Color Club Poptastic (pink) and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (white)!

Black Sheep Lacquer Swatches UPDATED: Grab Your Toque, Tequila Sunrise and Space Cowboy!

Hello everyone! I'm vacationing a few hours from home at a cool beach for a few days, so naturally, I brought around thirty polishes with me! I have the remaining three Black Sheep Lacquer polishes I own so far all swatched for you lovelies! The two glitter toppers were generously sent to me for swatches, but I bought the other one myself! All had awesome formulas as I've come to expect with Black Sheep Lacquer polishes, so this post is not an in-depth review but a bit of a swatch fest!

Onto the polishes!

Undies for the first polish I have to show you guys! Left to right (or pinky to thumb) excluding repeats: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Orly Liquid Vinyl, and American Apparel Poppy! I managed to only use one coat of each of these undies by using a thick coat!

Black Sheep Lacquer Grab Your Toque

UPDATE: This glitter topper is called Grab Your Toque and it's filled with small red and matte white hexes, even smaller matte white squares and silver shimmer! This is just one coat over my undies!

Undies for the second polish! Left to right (or pinky to thumb) excluding repeats: Color Club Almost Famous, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and Essie Mod Square! Again, this is just one thick coat of each undie!

Black Sheep Lacquer Tequila Sunrise

UPDATE: This glitter topper is called Tequila Sunrise and it has tiny neon yellow glitters, tiny gold holographic glitters, and large and small neon pink matte square glitters! SECOND UPDATE: Black Sheep Lacquer has recently put out another polish called Tequila Sunrise, and the new one (not this one) is the only one available for purchase at this time. So I'm pretty sure this glitter topper one has been discontinued!

Black Sheep Lacquer Space Cowboy

Lastly, I have Space Cowboy to show you guys! As with many neons, this polish's true colour won't translate to pictures. I actually checked to see if this polish glowed in the dark because it's so neon and bright! Imagine a glowing neon Creamsicle, that's what this polish actually looks like! Space Cowboy is a neon orange jelly with medium-sized matte yellow and blue hexes, large matte blue hexes, and a few tiny neon orange particles/glitters! This swatch shows just two coats!

Thanks for reading everyone! I'll be doing some real nail art for the first time in a while today or tomorrow and I'll be posting it tomorrow! :)

Color Club Halo Hues Swatches: Over The Moon and Beyond =)

It took me a ridiculously long time to get into holographic polishes and I'm really wondering why! These are two of the four Color Club Halo Hues I ordered online the other day, Over The Moon and Beyond. Can I just say how wonderful Nail Polish Canada is? My package took two days to arrive after it was shipped and they even included a lollipop! The polishes were packed very well so there was no way they could have arrived damaged :). The other polish I ordered from them was Nfu Oh Aqua Base. It's a base coat to be used with holographic polishes to make application easier, and it definitely does its job!

For these nails I did one coat of Aqua Base, two coats of Over The Moon, then one coat of Beyond with just the brush from the bottle (plus one coat of my current top coat, Essie Good To Go)! The first three pictures were taken outside in indirect sunlight, and the last four were taken inside with the flash.

Red Nails with Rhinestones and Random Shapes!

These are just some plain red nails I kept adding to because I thought they were too boring! The shimmery darker purple is NOPI Fanatical Fuchsia, the lighter purple is Essie Play Date, the yellow is the awesomely-formulated Color Club Almost Famous, the darker blue is China Glaze Ride The Waves, the lighter blue is Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, and last but not least, the red is Sally Hansen Madame X!

On my left hand I painted the shapes with a small striper brush, and on my right hand I just used the brushes from the bottles and a dotting tool! The heart rhinestones are from a tiny set off of Amazon!

As always, thanks for reading! :)
