American Nail Polish Haul! =)

So I've been going a little shopping crazy here in Washington, but good news, I'm back in Canada so the spending has stopped! All of the nail polish is at least a few dollars cheaper here and the tax is a smaller percentage so I couldn't help buying twenty-two new polishes! Let's not even talk about the clothes, sunglasses and shoes I bought! Eek! My incredibly lovely boyfriend gave me some money to spend on myself for this trip, and I was talked into accepting it by him and his silly mother! I still feel like a jerk for doing so, but I have some seriously awesome new babies making it hard for me to feel too bad! :P I apologize for the quality of these photos, the fancy camera I usually use is my sister's so I just took these with my phone! Can you believe I bought every colour of polish but blue? Blue is my most worn nail polish colour, which is also strange because green is my favourite colour.

Anyways, onto the polishes!

I've been lemming so many of these polishes since they came out and just seeing all of them makes me excited to use them all!

American Apparel

Left to right: Moon and Angeline

I feel like you could layer Moon over any light colour without changing it drastically, and bam, your nails glow greenish yellow in the dark! I've realized lately that I actually don't have many pinks in my collection, or even most shades of pink! Angeline is definitely a pink unique to my stash!

Zoya

Left to right: Destiny and Miranda

I'm wearing Destiny right now and it's freaking awesome! I'll be posting pictures taken from my phone (not my sister's nice camera unfortunately) of Destiny in a day or two! As you can probably tell (seeing that nine of these twenty-two polishes are matte textured polishes) I love matte textured polishes! I wish I could have found some of the fall Pixie Dust polishes because I'd love to buy almost that whole collection!

OPI

Left to right: Honey Ryder, You're Such a Budapest, My Vampire is Buff, Care to Danse?, Pirouette My Whistle, Gold Shatter, and Black Shatter

Apart from the shatters, these are all huge lemmings of mine (squee!) and I feel like you could do a cool matte and shiny look with a shatter polish. I had convinced myself that I had a colour similar to You're Such a Budapest and I'm not sure why because I don't. I'm so happy I let myself finally buy it, it's one of the most gorgeous polishes that exist in the world in my mind! Also, both of the shatter polishes were $1.80. OPI for less than two dollars? Sign me up!

I think everything I'm writing under each picture is to try and justify buying so much polish. Especially when my two polish racks are so full that they could only fit one or two more polishes! There's always the tops of the racks for two more polish I guess, though I was trying to avoid putting them up there!

Essie

Left to right: Naughty Nautical and DJ Play That Song

Green is my favourite colour and Naughty Nautical is a super awesome greenish teal with silver shimmer! Usually I'm not one for shimmer, but there isn't a lot in this polish and it really makes it unique. DJ Play That Song is just a lovely neon purple jelly that I've been eyeing since it came out and I think it goes really well with my skin tone! I can't wait to use it in a jelly sandwich!

Singles: Essence, China Glaze and Hard Candy

Left to right: Essence Mrs and Mr Glitter, China Glaze Bump & Grind and Hard Candy Black Tie Optional

I can't wait to try all of these! I didn't love Black Tie Optional at first, but all the lovely people on Reddit Laqueristas convinced me it was awesome with their swatches!

Sally Hansen

Left to right: Lick-O-Rich, Sour Apple, Cherry Drop, Sugar Fix, Sweetie and Tweedy

I kind of fell in love with the Sugar Coat collection right before I found them in store and I think I'll be swatching them this week! Tweedy is the coolest polish of the Fuzzy Coat collection in my opinion because it looks like TV static, and since it's black and white it can be layered over any polish! Neither of these collections are available in Canada as far as I know and I don't know that they ever will be, so who in their right mind wouldn't buy their favourites? ;)

I'm way too excited about this last item here, my first ever Rhinestone Pickerr Uperr! Whitney from Dressed Up Nails had awesome things to say about it! You should check out her blog if you never have, she's so talented and lovely! I can't wait to try picking up studs and rhinestones and placing them with more precision and ease. I'm also curious to see if this baby plays well with small glitters, because the dipping an orange stick in top coat method is a bit of a pain!

Thank you so much for reading as always, I hope you're all having a lovely day! :)

Canada Day Nails =)

Hey all! Today I have some Canada Day nail art to show you that I've been wearing while I've been in the States :). I'll be posting a big haul post in two days because all if the nail polish down here is cheaper than in Canada and I've been going a little shopping crazy!

Onto the pictures and colour names!

The blue seen here is China Glaze For Audrey, the red is American Apparel Poppy, and the glitter is an unnamed Black Sheep Lacquer polish (sent to me for swatching)!

Notice the derpy maple leaf, aka my poor drawing skills! :P

Thanks for reading everyone! :)

Black Sheep Lacquer Swatches and Review: Lateralus, Aliens Exist, and Strawberry! :)

This is a picture heavy post, so be warned! The lovely Erin (owner of Black Sheep Lacquer) has a few awesome sales running on her Etsy shop currently (here), so I couldn't resist picking up a few pretties!

Black Sheep Lacquer Lateralus

First up is Lateralus, a linear holographic top coat. It has a wonderful formula, and it levels and spreads fantastically. The pictures show the polish in varying degrees of sunlight, from indirect sunlight to close to full sunlight (the holo effect gets even stronger than in these pictures, the Sun decided to get a little brighter after I took these). This is one coat of Lateralus on top of two coats (from thumb to pinky) of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, American Apparel Office, Essie Mojito Madness, Essie Going Incognito, and Orly Liquid Vinyl. I didn't use a top coat for theses swatches, because Lateralus is so smooth when dry that you don't need to! I love this top coat so much that I prefer it over black than the black Color Club Halo Hue, Beyond!

Black Sheep Lacquer Aliens Exist

Next up is Aliens Exist, a neon lime green jelly with tiny gold circle glitters and large matte black diamond glitters. The colour is less pale and more yellow than pictured here, but like most neons, it's difficult to capture accurately on camera unfortunately! I used three coats for the opacity you see here and no top coat. As you can see, this polish dries to an awesome satiny finish! The formula of this polish is amazing, in addition to not having to fish for glitters, it: dries quickly, isn't streaky, and it levels well!

Black Sheep Lacquer Strawberry

Lastly we have Strawberry, my personal favourite if I had to choose! This beautiful polish is a red/pink jelly with green bar glitters, red bar glitters, and matte black hexagon and square glitters! I used two coats for the opacity you see here and one coat of top coat. Since this polish is absolutely packed with glitter, I'd suggest two coats of top coat for a totally smooth finish (though I prefer the textured look at one coat). Like the other two gorgeous polishes featured in this post, this polish was very easy to apply, and it levels itself out nicely! Like Aliens Exist, there was no need to fish the glitter out of the bottle!

Random Designs on a Nude Base!

For some reason gradients never work out well for me, my cuticles get stained and my clean up is never sufficient. Luckily Sarah at Chalkboard Nails will be posting a gradient tutorial soon, hers always seem to work out perfectly! Anyways, that's why I have another nail art post for you all today!

Onto the pictures and polishes used!

American Apparel Mannequin

I started off with one (yes, one!) coat of American Apparel's Mannequin. It looks nude in certain lights and these pictures, but it's quite a peachy colour in others. I think American Apparel is my favourite brand of nail polish!

The yellow I used was American Apparel's Neon Yellow, the pink was Essie Mod Square, and the red was my favourite red ever, American Apparel's Poppy!

Red Gradient Dot Mani =)

I did these last night for a happy, quick and fun mani :). This is just one coat of American Apparel's Poppy with the dots on top, I really do love their polishes!

Galaxy Nails Take Two? :)

I know I've done galaxy nails more than twice, but I think this is only my second galaxy manicure post on this blog! I was gonna go in and add cool triangles with other pastel colours but I didn't end up having time. The base is Essie's Devil's Advocate which is SUCH an awesome colour! It's a very dark purple jelly that looks only looks purple in the sun (and black everywhere else)! :)

From left to right: Essie Devil's Advocate, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, American Apparel Coney Island, Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, and a homemade holographic topcoat made of a clear coat and a few drops of a silver holographic polish :)

I'm really trying to make my blog nicer and nicer lately and any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks for reading!

Double Saran Wrap Mani :)

I just did my mom's nails and I thought I'd share!

From left to right: Office, Going Incognito, and Mojito Madness :).
