Emily de Molly Swatches and Review: Turbulence and Oceanic Forces!

Hey everybody! Today I have swatches of the two Emily de Molly polishes I picked up in Nail Polish Canada's most recent restock!

Both of these polishes had perfect formulas, slightly thick due to the glitter which again, is just the way I like my polishes! Opacity also wasn't an issue here, all of these pictures show two coats of colour and one coat of top coat (Essie Good to Go).

Please excuse my cuticles in these pictures, I tend to neglect them when I have a midterm to study for! I'm taking a break from swatching right now to write this post and let some cuticle oil sink in :).

Onto the swatches and descriptions of the polishes!

Emily de Molly Turbulence

Turbulence (love the name) is a deep and dark blue jelly packed with many colours, sizes and shapes of glitter! Some of these glitters are even holographic, including my favourites, the diamond-shaped ones. They really make the polish and set it apart from other glitter-containing jelly polishes!

Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces

Oceanic Forces is a deep and dark teal jelly polish filled with different shapes and sizes of turquoise glitters! Many of the glitters in this beauty are also holographic, and you can never go wrong with holographic glitters! I had a hard time getting the circle glitters onto the brush (despite the fact that I reversed the bottle for at least ten minutes before both coats), so I placed most of the circle glitters you see here by fishing and searching through the bottle. Honestly, having to fish for glitters doesn't bother me at all, it can be challenging at times but that makes what makes it fun! And as you can see it's well worth the effort!

Contrary Polish River Market Swatch and Review!

Hi everyone! Today I have my first ever Contrary Polish blend to share!

My lovely boyfriend is an enabler; he bought me my favourite three polishes from the latest Contrary Polish collection (the No Place Like Home Collection) a few weeks ago! I will definitely be sharing swatches of the other two polishes he picked up for me (The Boulevard and Westport) in the near future! But today I'll be sharing River Market with all you lovely people (if you haven't guessed from the title haha) so let's get to the swatches and review!

River Market is a dark purple jelly polish with orange, pink and purple shimmer! Shown here is two coats and a coat of top coat (as always, Essie Good To Go). Can you believe how deep this polish looks at only two coats? I always show my nails to everyone who's home after I do them, and when I showed these to my dad he immediately commented on the amazing depth. Formula-wise this polish was perfect; a tad bit thick which is just the way I like my polishes!

I tried using my (sister's) camera on the program setting and fiddling with the white balance, and funnily enough I actually took these pictures above my light box! I think if I use these settings, work within the light box, and possibly add another lamp above my light box, my pictures might look like they do here but with less glare. Maybe I've finally figured out my lighting guys!!! What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Onto the photos!

I'll definitely be purchasing some more Contrary Polish polishes in the future, as I am absolutely wowed and in love with this brand already! Check out their shop here or their blog here to see more of their gorgeous polishes!

Thanks so much for reading everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely Wednesday! =)

Northern Star Polish Swatches: Venus de Meow and Bronzite!

Hi everyone! Today I have swatches and reviews of two more Northern Star Polish polishes to share!

I had a relaxing Saturday swatching these babies before a lovely dinner of Indian food and marathon of Super Nintendo games, despite the fact that I should have been studying for an upcoming cell biology midterm haha! Let me know how you guys spent your Saturdays in the comments!

Onto the reviews and pictures!

Venus de Meow is a very pale purple crelly with tiny blue circles, many large silver and a few purple hexes, and medium-sized silver holographic hexes (you can see one that appears green in the bottle shot)! Formula-wise this polish was pretty thick, but it is from an older collection I believe. Nail polish thinner didn't seem to help very much at all, but the polish was still manageable! Shown here is two thick coats and no top coat!

Bronzite is a dark brown creme with tiny gold and orange circles and small silver flakies! I am seriously in love with this beauty. Guys, I think this is my new favourite polish. I know I never use caps lock here, but LOOK AT IT!!! Formula-wise this polish was a little thick, but totally useable and manageable! I find slightly thick polishes like this have the easiest consistencies to work with so there are no formula issues to report here! Shown here is two easy coats and a coat of top coat!

I can't say enough good things about this polish guys. I was going to swatch the five other polishes I picked up from Northern Star Polish and maybe even the three Contrary Polish polishes I that arrived the other day, but after one coat I base coated my other hand because I had to wear it!

Are you guys as in love with Bronzite as I am? Even though it's a whole 15mL polish and I only ever finish black or white cremes, I seriously might need to pick up a backup of this lovely! I hope you're all having a lovely and relaxing Sunday, thank you so much for reading everyone! :)

Hey everybody! Today I got some Black Sheep Lacquer polishes in the mail to swatch! I also got some Hex Nail Jewelry that I'll be posting about soon!

I have a bunch of things on their way to me (mostly polish-related items) from before I started my no-buy month that I'm really excited about! I bought some glitters from YouMix a week or so ago and I'm really excited to do some individually placed glitter manis with them! I'm most excited that my Jeffrey Campbell Litas arrived though! I've started posting OOTDs on my Instagram so if you're interested go ahead and follow me here!

Anyways, all of these polishes had lovely unproblematic formulas, so onto the swatches!

Zoya Miranda Swatches and Review!

Hey everybody! Today I have a swatch and review of Zoya Miranda for you all!

I've decided my relationship with textured polishes is a love-hate one only because they're so hard to use in nail art! I'll probably be taking this off soon and doing some cutesy nails with some of my new Hex Nail Jewelry charms so stay tuned!

I also have four new Black Sheep Lacquer polishes all swatched for you and one old one I decided to reswatch for the author of Blueberry Nails. I used it (First Polish on the Moon) without a white base this time to see how it looked and behaved! Once Erin names the last polish I swatched I'll be posting all of the swatches for you lovely people!

Onto the swatches and review!

Zoya Miranda

Miranda- two coats!

This polish had a wonderful formula, and since the textured parts of this polish are of finer grit than other textured polishes, it was almost like applying a normal micro-glitter polish! One day I really want to try layering a new textured matte polish I picked up, OPI Solitaire, over darker textured matte polishes like Miranda for a lighter look! Having a light textured matte polish in your arsenal basically doubles the number of textured matte polishes you have, because you can easily make a paler version of any colour!
