Twelve Looks from the Last Ten Months and a Little Life Update

Hey everyone, long time no talk!

It looks like it has been about 10 months since I last posted on here, wow! A lot has happened in that time including me finishing up the last year of my Bachelor's of Science with Honours in Biochemistry! Other than that, most of what has happened has been really sad and difficult. I don't want to get into it too much because this should be a happy nail place but my dad began emotionally and verbally abusing us over a year ago, using drugs and now he has moved out and my parents are separated. I struggle with depression and anxiety but now that I have some time off from school I have a lot more time for self care and I really want to get into blogging again. If any of you guys ever want to talk about anything I'm here!

Catching Up!

Hey everyone, today I have a catch up post to share!

Life hasn't been great lately but I've been getting back into nails which makes everything better. I only have six more courses to take until I'm finished my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biochemistry so I'm hoping to keep the nails coming even when school starts again. I will be graduating with honours which means I'll be completing an honours project. I've been volunteering in the lab I'll be working in for that project twice a week and I've realized the combination of often being too hot/sweaty and almost constantly wearing gloves means sad wet nails. There is a huge bright side to this because keeping my nails painted and protected will keep them happy. This is a huge motivation for me to paint my nails which is great!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Lilac Nails Inspired by MrCandiipants Featuring piCture pOlish Swagger & Hex Nail Jewelry!

Hello hello my lovelies! Today I have my first proper blog post in a long time to share, inspired by a MrCandiipants design!

I am still so happy to be done with school and finals, it's great to not have to worry about! Anyways, onto the nails!

I started with two coats of piCture pOlish Swagger. The formula was amazing and it was almost opaque at one coat! For the leaves I used OPI Green-wich Village and that mixed with some Revlon Spanish Moss, and for the flowers I used OPI Hello Hawaii Ya?, Essie Play Date and Essie Warm & Toasty Turtleneck.

I left one nail lilac-less on each hand to add some Hex Nail Jewelry charms. I just apply them with a bit of top coat, double top coat them and they stay right on (I wore this look for six days with no problems)!

So what do you guys think of this look? I don't love it because I didn't execute it very well. I'd like to try a look more like the MrCandiipants one, basically with better leaves/greenery!

My first final exam is tomorrow so I will be busy studying for about another week. I can't wait for them all to be done and for my summer to start! I'm going to try and get a proper job and continue my tutoring so I won't get bored on this big break!

Five Roundups From Five Months: Red to Green

Hello hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you the first of five roundup posts from my five month absence!

Being a fourth year biochem student makes it hard to do everything else you'd like to do. I've missed blogging so much; taking proper nail pictures, filming and editing tutorials, writing a bit about my life and interacting with you guys! I struggle with motivation in basically every aspect of my life but I have a little more than usual lately and I want to translate that into blogging!

Another MrCandiipants Spring Floral Featuring Renaissance Cosmetics Tiny Petals Everywhere!

Hey everyone! Today I have a MrCandiipants floral design and a Renaissance Cosmetics polish to share!

Some way or another, almost every mani I do goes up on my Instagram way before it makes it here. This look is a rare exception because I didn't do it for a WNAC prompt and didn't just post it for fun!

Onto the nails!

To start, I applied two coats of Cirque Carpe Diem on most of my nails. On my other nails I applied just two easy coats of Renaissance Cosmetics Tiny Petals Everywhere! Funnily enough I needed three coats on my dominant hand but only two on my non-dominant hand (almost certainly because my non-dominant hand isn't so great at painting my dominant hand).

As I do lately, I decided to do some nail art to match the glitters in this indie polish! I did the famous spring floral design by MrCandiipants using American Apparel African Violet (purple), Girly Bits Cosmetics I've Got High Hoops (blue), American Apparel Rose Bowl (pink/coral) and American Apparel 7th and Alameda (grey).

Tiny Petals Everywhere had a great formula and was so easy to work with! I'm finding all Renaissance Cosmetics polishes to be absolutely amazing!

What do you guys think of this look or this adorable indie polish? I'm loving both! Also, I'm bringing back the pictures of my dominant hand because it's always fun to see how it turns out compared to the other one!
