Bright Warm-Toned Squiggly Nail Art Featuring Sally Hansen and Nicole by OPI!

Hey everyone! Today I have some bright squiggly nail art to share!

It looks like I'll probably have a biology research assistant lab job starting next month and I'm so excited y'all! My plan was to start my Master's this September but there is a funding crisis going on in the biochemistry department. All I want to do is lab work so I really hope this job works out! I've met with some lab members and I'll meet with the lab head in September and let you guys know! Life is and has been hard for the last few years but hopefully some good things are coming!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Madame X, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Daquiri, Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights

I started off with three coats of NOPI Hit the Lights over my holy grail base coat: Orly Bonder. In real life this polish was still streaky at this point, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Next, I went in with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Madame X and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Daquiri on a small nail art brush. A coat of Essie Good to go, some clean up and I was finished!

So what do you guys think of these nails? I'm a big fan of these squiggles! Hope you're all doing okay, happy Tuesday :).

Twelve Looks from the Last Ten Months and a Little Life Update

Hey everyone, long time no talk!

It looks like it has been about 10 months since I last posted on here, wow! A lot has happened in that time including me finishing up the last year of my Bachelor's of Science with Honours in Biochemistry! Other than that, most of what has happened has been really sad and difficult. I don't want to get into it too much because this should be a happy nail place but my dad began emotionally and verbally abusing us over a year ago, using drugs and now he has moved out and my parents are separated. I struggle with depression and anxiety but now that I have some time off from school I have a lot more time for self care and I really want to get into blogging again. If any of you guys ever want to talk about anything I'm here!

Anyways, onto the twelve looks I've done in the last ten months!

Born Pretty Store Bear Dispenser Review!

Hey everyone, today I have a quick review of a product from Born Pretty Store to share!

Last night there was a meteor shower, so we went out to my grandma's farm and laid on the sundeck to watch it. It was really cool to see but I went to sleep before it was over because I'm a bit of a grandma myself! Anyway, onto the nails!

I picked up this bear dispenser to put nail polish remover in for easier nail polish removal. I have used it for many months and I really love it! It can spray out a little wildly so to avoid any mess I just put the cotton pad right up against the spout.

The best thing about this is that I don't have to open one of my huge bottles of nail polish remover and risk spilling it. I have accidentally left this on its side on a desk and I'm happy to report it didn't spill!

Another plus about this is that it's quite cute! As you may know, pink is my least favourite colour so I hoped to get any other colour (the colour you receive is random), but it is still cute!

If you want to pick this, or any other nail art stuff up, be sure to use my 10% off code; SKBQ10!

Thanks so much for having a look everyone! I'll be back soon with some holographic circle glitter nails, happy Friday!

Catching Up!

Hey everyone, today I have a catch up post to share!

Life hasn't been great lately but I've been getting back into nails which makes everything better. I only have six more courses to take until I'm finished my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biochemistry so I'm hoping to keep the nails coming even when school starts again. I will be graduating with honours which means I'll be completing an honours project. I've been volunteering in the lab I'll be working in for that project twice a week and I've realized the combination of often being too hot/sweaty and almost constantly wearing gloves means sad wet nails. There is a huge bright side to this because keeping my nails painted and protected will keep them happy. This is a huge motivation for me to paint my nails which is great!

Anyways, onto the nails!

Springy Floral Frames Featuring Hex Nail Jewelry Charms!

Hello everyone! Today I have some floral frame nails to share!

I've been applying for jobs lately but I've yet to hear back from anyone. My boyfriend is still away for another month so I wish I could get a job to make the time go by quicker! On the plus side, I have been able to relax and do a lot of things that I like, but that does make the time seem to go by slower.

Anyways, onto the nails!

I started off with two coats of OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid, OPI Good Grief! or American Apparel French Lilac on most of my nails. I then went in with each of those colours on a small paint brush for the accent nails.

Immediately after top coating the floral frame nails, I picked up the Hex Nail Jewelry charms with some tweezers and placed them while the top coat was still wet. After that dried, I top coated and cleaned up all my nails to complete the look.

What do you guys think of this look? I think they came out much too girly for my tastes but I love the charms that I used!

Thanks so much for having a look everyone! I'll be back with an Essie Silk Watercolor collection look soon! Happy Wednesday! =)

Negative Space Black Hearts!

Hello everyone! Today I have some black heart nails to share!

The boy I'm seeing is away for three months to tree plant and he only has service on days off when he goes into town. That, among other things, has made life sucky as of late but I'm feeling a bit better and excited to do new nails!

Onto these nails!

All I used for this look other than base and top coat (Orly Bonder and Essie Good to Go) was American Apparel Hassid. I even just used the brush from the bottle, so this really is a super easy look!

What do you guys think of this look? I always love a good heart look like this!

Thanks so much for taking a look everyone! I'll be back with some shorter nails that I'll probably be painting today! Happy Wednesday! =)

Lilac Nails Inspired by MrCandiipants Featuring piCture pOlish Swagger & Hex Nail Jewelry!

Hello hello my lovelies! Today I have my first proper blog post in a long time to share, inspired by a MrCandiipants design!

I am still so happy to be done with school and finals, it's great to not have to worry about! Anyways, onto the nails!

I started with two coats of piCture pOlish Swagger. The formula was amazing and it was almost opaque at one coat! For the leaves I used OPI Green-wich Village and that mixed with some Revlon Spanish Moss, and for the flowers I used OPI Hello Hawaii Ya?Essie Play Date and Essie Warm & Toasty Turtleneck.

I left one nail lilac-less on each hand to add some Hex Nail Jewelry charms. I just apply them with a bit of top coat, double top coat them and they stay right on (I wore this look for six days with no problems)!

So what do you guys think of this look? I don't love it because I didn't execute it very well. I'd like to try a look more like the MrCandiipants one, basically with better leaves/greenery!

Thanks so much for taking a look guys! I just took this look off so I have no idea what I'll be back with! Happy Saturday! :)
